Hon. Abiodun Adekunle Isola, popularly known as BARUWA, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and announced his alignment with a new political party ahead of the 2027 elections.
BARUWA, confirmed the decision on Thurdday, saying it was made after wide consultations with supporters and stakeholders across the constituency.
According to him, the move became necessary due to ongoing developments within the PDP that he believes no longer align with his political vision and the expectations of the people he represents.
“Politics is about service and ensuring that the people’s mandate is protected and advanced,” BARUWA said. “After careful consideration, I have decided to take a new path that will allow me to serve the people of Ibadan South West Constituency I more effectively.”
He acknowledged his years of association with the PDP and thanked party members for their support during his time in the fold. He, however, said the current internal structure and direction of the party had made it difficult to pursue his commitment to grassroots development and responsive representation.
Political analysts say his exit could reshape alignments in Ibadan South West Constituency I, given his recent emergence through consensus and his growing grassroots base. Supporters say his decision is aimed at securing a platform that guarantees stability and a clear pathway to deliver on his campaign promises.
