The Chairmanship Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, for Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Idris Adewale Akanbi, has felicitated former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Saheed Akinade Fijabi, on the occasion of his birthday.
In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen on Sunday, Hon. Akanbi described Hon. Fijabi as a pragmatic politician, a grassroots mobilizer and a leader whose contributions to the development of Ibadan South East and Oyo State remain indelible.
According to him, Hon. Fijabi distinguished himself as a responsive and responsible lawmaker during his time in the National Assembly, where he represented Ibadan South West/North West Federal Constituency with uncommon dedication, humility and passion for the people.
“Hon. Saheed Fijabi is a pragmatic politician who understands the needs of his people. His style of politics is devoid of bitterness and focused on service delivery. He is a role model to many of us coming behind,” Hon. Akanbi said.
Hon. Akanbi added that Fijabi’s attitude, character and style of leadership exemplify his family name and tradition. He noted that the Fijabi family is known for integrity, service, honour and commitment to the progress of Ibadanland, and Hon. Saheed has continued to uphold and promote those cherished values in both public and private life.
He stressed that Fijabi has shown that politics can be played with decorum, respect for elders and genuine love for the people, which are hallmarks of a true Ibadan son.
He further noted that Fijabi’s legacies in quality representation, youth empowerment, educational support and community development have continued to speak for him even after leaving office.
Hon. Akanbi prayed for long life, sound health, more prosperity and greater wisdom for the celebrant, urging him to continue to avail Oyo State and Nigeria of his wealth of experience in governance and leadership.
He wished Hon. Fijabi a happy birthday celebration filled with joy, peace and fulfillment.
