The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government Area, Hon. Kehinde Akande, has extended warm Children’s Day greetings to children across the council area, reaffirming his commitment to their welfare, education, and wellbeing.
In his message released on Monday, Akande described children as “the heartbeat of tomorrow” and urged parents, teachers, and community leaders to create an environment where every child can thrive.
“On this Children’s Day, I celebrate the joy, creativity, and potential of every child in Ibadan South West. Our duty as leaders and parents is to protect their dreams, provide quality education, and give them the love and support they need to grow into responsible citizens,” Akande said.
He noted that the local government would continue to prioritize programmes that promote child health, learning, and safety, adding that investing in children is investing in the future of the community.
Akande also called on residents to show kindness and encouragement to children in their neighborhoods, stressing that a nurturing environment helps build a stronger society.
Children’s Day is observed annually to recognize the rights of children and highlight the importance of giving them the opportunity to grow up healthy, educated, and protected.
