By Thompson Adegbite, a proud son of Ogbomoso and a voice for its youth.
History rarely remembers those who merely occupied public office; it remembers those who transformed public office into an instrument of progress. Representation should never be accidental. It must be intentional, purposeful, and anchored in a clear vision for the people.
As a young son of Ogbomoso, I have watched my generation search tirelessly for opportunities, mentorship, and a meaningful seat at the table. Too often, when opportunities should have come our way, they were denied. We are blessed with talent, intelligence, and resilience, yet many of our brightest young people continue to seek fulfillment elsewhere because leadership has not fully harnessed their potential.
As the people of Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, and Oriire Federal Constituency prepare to make another defining choice, I believe the time has come to entrust our mandate to a man whose life has been defined by service long before politics called his name.
Dr. Kunle Adegbite is not merely aspiring to become a member of the House of Representatives. He is a distinguished nursing professional with a Ph.D. in Nursing, whose career has been devoted to improving lives. Beyond his profession, he is a philanthropist whose compassion is reflected in the orphanage he established and continues to sustain. His national and international exposure has equipped him with the experience, relationships, and perspective needed to attract opportunities and provide effective representation for our constituency.
Anyone who has dedicated his life to healing understands the value of every human life. Anyone who has consistently given hope to the vulnerable understands that leadership is measured by service, compassion, integrity, and impact not by titles or political longevity.
Ogbomoso deserves a representative who will not enter the National Assembly by chance or treat legislative responsibility as an afterthought. We deserve an intentional lawmaker one who arrives prepared, armed with a clear legislative agenda, a deep understanding of governance, and an unwavering commitment to attracting federal opportunities, influencing policy, facilitating development, and ensuring our constituency has a respected voice in national affairs.
Equally important is the kind of leadership that creates successors rather than spectators. True leaders do not monopolize opportunities, they multiply them. They do not fear the rise of young people, they nurture it. They mentor, empower, and create platforms through which the next generation can flourish.
As a young person, this is the quality that inspires me most about Dr. Kunle Adegbite. His life reflects a genuine commitment to investing in people long before seeking political office. His record demonstrates that empowering others is not a campaign slogan~it is a way of life.
My fellow youths, we should never have to wait for permission to dream or for someone else’s approval to realize our potential. We deserve a representative who believes in our abilities, invests in our future, celebrates our successes, and understands that the greatest legacy any leader can leave behind is a generation that surpasses him.
This election is bigger than personalities. It is bigger than political parties. It is about the future of Ogbomoso. It is about choosing between representation that merely occupies a seat and representation that delivers measurable results.
I believe Dr. Kunle Adegbite embodies the compassion of a healthcare professional, the generosity of a philanthropist, the exposure of a statesman, and the vision of a transformational leader. These qualities uniquely position him to represent Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, and Oriire Federal Constituency with dignity, competence, and purpose.
The future of Ogbomoso belongs to leaders who inspire hope, build institutions, empower people, and leave behind opportunities not excuses. As a proud son of this great land, I have made my choice. I choose a leader who has already demonstrated, through a lifetime of service, that leadership is about lifting others.
Let us choose intentional leadership.
Let us choose purposeful representation.
Let us choose visionary service.
Let us choose Dr. Kunle Adegbite.
