Glamorous Ladies, a socio-political group in Ibadan South West Local Government, has congratulated the consensus Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship candidates of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, ahead of the December 2026 local government election.
The group in a statement on Monday threw its weight behind Hon. Idris Adewale Akanbi as Chairmanship candidate and Alhaji Hassan Abolaji Bello as Vice Chairmanship candidate, describing their emergence as a welcome development for the party in the local government.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Hon Faseha Ilesanmi Atinuke commended Governor Seyi Makinde for providing purposeful leadership in Oyo State and appreciated the leadership of APM in Ibadan South West for ensuring a peaceful and transparent consultation process.
“We appreciate His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, and the leadership of APM in Ibadan South West Local Government for the unity and maturity displayed during the selection of our candidates,” Hon. Atinuke said.
She noted that Hon. Akanbi and Alhaji Bello possess the capacity, experience and grassroots connection needed to deliver good governance to the people of Ibadan South West.
Glamorous Ladies also called on all party members to close ranks and rally around the winners in the interest of party unity.
“We call on everyone to rally round the winners to promote party cohesion in the local government. Our strength lies in our unity, and together we can deliver victory for APM in December 2026,” she added.
Hon. Atinuke appreciates the leadership of the incumbent chairman, Hon. Kehinde Akande for his development and love for the local government. She further assured that the group is ready to promote and support Councillorship candidates across all wards in Ibadan South West. She said the group will work to mobilize women and youths at the ward level to ensure that APM wins both the chairmanship and all councillorship seats.
The group pledged its total support for the consensus candidates and promised to embark on aggressive grassroots mobilization across the 10 wards in Ibadan South West to ensure a resounding victory for APM at the polls.
Party leaders in the area have commended Glamorous Ladies for the endorsement, describing the group as a strong mobilization force that has consistently worked for the growth of APM in Ibadan South West.
