Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke, on Saturday led youths in the state to mobilize support for the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, during the party’s presidential primary.

The commissioner, who spoke at the primary venue, assured Governor Seyi Makinde of massive youth backing for all APM candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Adegoke said youths in Oyo State remain aligned with Governor Makinde’s political direction and will work to deliver victory for the APM at all levels.

“We are here today at the APM presidential primary to show that Oyo youths are united behind His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde. Our support for APM candidates will be total and unwavering from this primary to the general elections,” she said.

Backing her position, APM State Youth Leader, Hon. Olumide Ojo, said the youth wing of the party is in full agreement with the commissioner’s declaration.

“The Commissioner has spoken the mind of Oyo youths. We align completely with her statement. The APM youth structure will deliver for the party and for Governor Makinde’s leadership in 2027,” Ojo said.

Adegoke explained that the decision to back the APM was based on Makinde’s record on youth empowerment, sports development, and inclusive governance in the state.

“Governor Makinde has invested in the future of young people. As a constituency, we have resolved to stand with him and the political platform he supports. APM is our party, and we will mobilize for it,” Adegoke added.

Ojo further disclosed that the APM youth wing had already activated ward-to-ward mobilization across the 33 local government areas of the state.

“We are not waiting. From this primary, we move to the streets and polling units. The youth vote will be decisive for APM,” he stated.

The APM conducted its presidential primary on Saturday as political parties ramp up activities ahead of the 2027 polls.
