As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to mark Workers’ Day, Honourable Abiodun Adekunle Ishola, popularly known as BARUWA has extended felicitations to workers across Ibadan South West Local Government, Oyo State, and the nation at large.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Hon. Ishola paid tribute to the Nigerian workforce, describing their contribution as the backbone of national and community development.
“To every worker across Ibadan South West Local Government, Oyo State, and Nigeria, today we honor you,” he said.
Hon. Ishola noted that the dedication of workers sustains critical sectors of society. “Your dedication keeps schools open, hospitals running, roads maintained, markets alive, and government working,” he stated.
He further acknowledged the diverse roles played by citizens in the labour force. “From civil servants to artisans, traders, teachers, drivers, and health workers, your labour builds our communities,” the statement read.
The May 1 celebration, observed globally as International Workers’ Day, recognizes the sacrifices and achievements of workers. Hon. Ishola urged workers to remain steadfast despite economic challenges, while calling on government at all levels to continue prioritizing workers’ welfare, job security, and decent working conditions.
He concluded by wishing all workers a peaceful and reflective celebration.
