The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Ambassador Kehinde Akande, has awarded Outstanding students across the local government with sponsorship for their NECO examination forms under the Educational Support Scheme initiative.
The beneficiaries, carefully selected from various secondary schools within the local government, were described by the Chairman as “my children,” emphasizing his unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders.
Speaking during the presentation, Ambassador Akande encouraged the students to be of good conduct and worthy representatives of their schools, parents, and the society at large. He urged them to remain disciplined, focused, and obedient to their parents and teachers, noting that character and hard work remain the foundation of lasting success.

In a remarkable show of encouragement, the Chairman further promised each student a cash reward of ₦250,000 if they ace all their subjects in the upcoming WAEC examination, describing academic excellence as a pathway to greater opportunities.
Ambassador Akande also used the opportunity to appreciate the unwavering support of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, for his continuous investment in the education sector. He commended the Governor’s visionary leadership and commitment to improving educational infrastructure and opportunities across the state.
Akande speaking further announced plans to relocate and renovate the Molete Library, transforming it into a modern facility that will also serve as an ICT Center. According to him, the upgrade will provide students and young people in the community with access to digital learning tools and technological resources necessary for global competitiveness.
The supervisory councillor for education appreciated the chairman for this Laudable and impactful initiatives aimed at empowering students and youths within the Local Government.He maintained that education remains a top priority for the administration and gave words of encouragement to the beneficiaries.
