Honourable Tunde Oluyedun has extended sympathies to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and affected families following reports of a security kidnapping involving school children in Ogbomoso axis
In a statement on Sunday, Honourable Oluyedun described the situation as distressing and said his thoughts were with the government and the families awaiting updates on their children.
“My heart goes out to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, and all those impacted. No parent should endure the pain of uncertainty over a child’s safety,” Hon. Oluyedun said. “I commend the swift response of the state government and security agencies, and I urge them to sustain every effort to ensure the safe return of the children.”
He called on residents and the public to remain calm and allow authorities to carry out their work without interference.
“I also urge the public to desist from spreading unverified reports and rumours. Sharing false information only creates unnecessary fear, hampers rescue efforts, and deepens the trauma of affected families,” he stated.
Hon. Oluyedun said he was praying for the safety and early return of the children, and reaffirmed his support for measures that strengthen security around schools and communities in Oyo State.
The Oyo State Government has said it is working closely with security agencies and will provide verified updates as the situation develops. It has similarly appealed to the public to rely on official channels for information.
