Youth stakeholders across Ibadan South West State Constituency I have expressed appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership for the selection of Hon. Abiodun Adekunle Isola BARUWA as the consensus candidate for the 2027 Oyo State House of Assembly election.

In a joint statement signed by ward coordinators, the stakeholders said the decision reflects the party’s commitment to inclusive representation and recognition of grassroots service.

“This choice aligns with the aspirations of our people and demonstrates that the party values loyalty, accessibility, and capacity in leadership,” the statement read. “Hon. BARUWA has remained connected to the communities and has shown consistent dedication to youth empowerment and community development.”

The youth stakeholders noted that the consensus approach has helped reduce internal friction and positions the party for unity ahead of the 2027 elections. They pledged to mobilize support across all six wards to ensure victory for BARUWA.

The statement was jointly signed by the following coordinators on behalf of the youth across Constituency I:

According to the group, BARUWA’s track record makes him well positioned to advance policies that address education, job opportunities, and social welfare for young people in the constituency.
