In a significant development, Honourable Hassan Bello, popularly known as Hassano, has been elected as the new Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan South West Local Government. The election was held during the PDP Congress in Aleshinloye.
Alhaji Nureni Akanbi, Arole-Iba Oluyole and the leader of PDP in Ibadan South West Local Government, announced Hassano’s victory. The Congress was attended by prominent party leaders, including Dr. Nureni Adeniran, SUBEB Chairman; Honourable Kunle Busari, Secretary of the Congress; Honourable Kehinde Akande, Local Government Chairman; Mama Kikelomo Sogbesan, Mama Mukeso, former vice chairman of the council, Honourable Oyetunde Oyetunji, State PDP Executive member, Pastor Biodun Popoola.
Others are Leader of the Legislative Council, Honourable Adelodun Asela, Honourable Adisa Adeyinka, Honourable Abiodun Baruwa, Honourable Abayomi Fagbenro Bibiire, Councillors , Supervisory Councillors , Special Assistants to the local government chairman, outgoing ward chairman and incoming chairmen, newly elected Ward executives, party member across the wards were also in attendance.
Following the announcement, party members, including youth, women, and elders, celebrated Hassano’s emergence as the new Chairman.
As the new leader of PDP in Ibadan South West Local Government, Hassano is expected to bring fresh perspectives and energy to the party. His grassroots approach and commitment to community development are likely to strengthen the party’s presence in the local government.
