Ibarapakan Provides Social Support to Another Batch of Widows in Ibarapa

Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has provided social support to another batch of hundreds of widows in the constituency.

The widows’ support programme, which commenced in July this year, aims to cater for widows in the constituency every month, providing them with necessary assistance and support.

The August edition of the programme, held in various community halls, including known locations in the five communities, saw hundreds of widows receive their social support package. According to Hajjia Abiola-Baderin Shukrah Olapegba, who is the Special Adviser on Women Affairs to Hon. Adepoju and who conducted the exercise between Tuesday, August 19 and Wednesday, August 20, 2025, the initiative saw hundreds of registered widows come out in numbers for their package.

Hajia Abiola-Baderin said this month’s edition of the widows’ social support was a huge success, with the orderliness and peaceful coordination that characterised the process.

Speaking on behalf of the lawmaker, Hon. Rasheed Babarinde, who is the Executive Vice Chairman of Ibarapa Central, commended Hon. Adepoju for his kind gesture to widows in the federal constituency. Hon. Babarinde said no amount of benevolence extended to that category of people is enough, thanking the Ibarapa-born lawmaker for his demonstration of exceptional leadership.

Also, his counterpart in Ibarapa North, Hon. Bisi Akande, who is the Executive Vice Chairman of Ibarapa North, appreciated Hon. Adepoju for not reneging on his promise to widows in the constituency. He described social support as a programme that every single individual should venture into, calling on the support of all and sundry for the sustainability of the initiative.

The widows, in their separate remarks, also commended Hon. Adepoju for his human capital and infrastructural development approach in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North since his emergence in 2023.

Commenting on this month’s edition, Hon. Adepoju said the initiative is in line with the sustainable agenda of Omituntun 2.0 of his amiable principal, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, for the good and hardworking people of Oyo State. He also promised to always get in touch with the vulnerable in the constituency.
