Ramadan Lecture Draws Top Leaders: Oyo State Grand Imam, Oyo PDP Secretary, ALGON Chairman, Asiwaju Oluyole , Others Join Jagaban for Spiritual Reflection

Honourable Mojeed Mogbonjubola, Oyo State’s Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, hosted the 4th Ramadan Lecture, bringing together dignitaries and community members for a day of spiritual revival and engagement.

The lecture, delivered by renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Daud Yusuf Alawiye, emphasized the importance of compassion, empathy, and selflessness during the holy month of Ramadan. The event provided a platform for attendees to reflect on their values and connect with one another on a deeper level. The 4th Ramadan Lecture, delivered by the esteemed Islamic scholar Sheikh Daud Yusuf Alawiye, was a poignant reminder of the values that underpin the holy month of Ramadan. With his characteristic eloquence and wisdom, Sheikh Alawiye emphasized the importance of compassion, empathy, and selflessness during this sacred period.

Sheikh Alawiye began by highlighting the significance of compassion in Islam. He noted that Ramadan is a time when Muslims are encouraged to cultivate a sense of empathy and understanding towards others, particularly those who are less fortunate.

“Compassion is not just a feeling, but a choice,” Sheikh Alawiye emphasized. “It is a decision to put the needs of others before our own, to listen to their stories, and to offer a helping hand.” Sheikh Alawiye also stressed the importance of empathy during Ramadan. He encouraged the attendees to put themselves in others’ shoes, to understand their struggles and challenges, and to offer support and guidance when needed.

In attendance were several prominent figures, including the Grand Imam of Oyo State and Chief Imam of Ibadanland, His Eminence Sheikh AbdulGaniy Abubakri Agbotomokekere who prayed on reflection on the values and connect with one another on a deeper level. He prayed for moment of introspection and self-reflection, as individuals must examined their own lives and relationships in light of the principles of compassion, empathy, and selflessness.
