Ibarapakan Facilitates Public Library in Igboora, to Distribute Academic Instructional Materials to Students in Ibarapa Central/North

Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has facilitated a state-of-the-art public library in Igboora, Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of Oyo State, to promote access to information, support research, preserve cultural heritage and others.

Approving the project on Thursday, March 13, 2025, Hon. Adepoju said the laying of the foundation of the facility would be carried out by Hon. (Miss) Peace Oluwaseyi Oladosu, One-Day House of Reps Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency in the presence of significant stakeholders in the educational sector at the federal, state and constituency levels. The decision, according to him, is part of his effort to honour Hon. Peace and to motivate teenagers and other students like her in the constituency and to demonstrate the commitment of the administration towards child education.

The lawmaker expressed that the historic event, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 20, 2025, behind National Population Commission (NPC), Igboora, will also feature distribution of instructional materials to all public secondary school students in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas to promote learning and reduce the burden of the cost of getting the materials by parents.

Hon. Adepoju stressed that the public library will be well equipped with up-to-date materials and relevant facilities to serve its core purpose of supporting research and innovation, preservation of history in the constituency and beyond, as well as building a cohesive community through social connections and community engagement.

He expressed concern over the non-availability of public library in the constituency and the negative impact of such development on access to information and knowledge acquisition by students, researchers and visitors.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character, however, announced that there are 10 of his ongoing projects in the federal constituency, urging constituents where the projects are located to also perform active community participation by supervising them so that they are completed effectively and efficiently.
