Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has facilitated an empowerment programme for another batch of hundreds of constituents across Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas of Oyo State.
Recall that the lawmaker held the first phase of the empowerment and drug abuse sensitisation programme on October 22, 2024, at Ayete Town Hall in Ibarapa North Local Government, where beneficiaries were drawn from across the five principal communities that make up the federal constituency.
The second phase of the programme, which was also held at Ayete Town Hall between Monday, January 26 and Tuesday, January 27, 2026, also captured beneficiaries from Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas of Oyo State.
The programme was prepared, organised and monitored by the National Productivity Centre (NPC) in collaboration with Dacero Nigeria Limited. It also featured sensitisation sessions against drug abuse targeted at women and youths within the federal constituency, aimed at combating the intake of illicit drugs and promoting a safe and secure society.
Speaking on behalf of Hon. Adebayo Adepoju, the Executive Vice Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon. Bisi Akande expressed appreciation to his leader and mentor, Hon. Adepoju, for facilitating impactful programmes for both the old and the young in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency. According to him, the era of Hon. Adepoju has brought about unprecedented development to Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa Federal Constituency in the last 30 months.
The local government administrator also commended the (NPC) for its sustained efforts in sensitising the youth against drug abuse while simultaneously empowering numerous constituents in the constituency. He urged participants to make effective use of the knowledge imparted and the empowerment received to make informed decisions in their day-to-day lives.
Hon. Adepoju had earlier stated that the sensitisation and empowerment programme was designed to curb drug abuse in the constituency through strategic interventions tailored towards safeguarding the most vulnerable members of society.
With the completion of this capacity-building exercise, the federal lawmaker has successfully implemented two empowerment programmes so far in January 2026 with assurance for more to be carried out.
