In line with the Vibing December initiative organised by the Oyo State Government through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Royal Entertainment Cruise, Eleyele, Ibadan, on Wednesday December 24 hosted a colourful Celebrity Cruise that attracted top personalities from across the state.
The aquatourism facility came alive as celebrities, political leaders, and stakeholders converged on the serene Eleyele waterfront to celebrate culture, tourism, and entertainment in a festive atmosphere befitting the Yuletide season.
Among the notable guests received was the Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government and Asiwaju of Oluyole, Asiwaju (Engr.) Akeem Olatunji, FNSE, whose 53rd birthday coincided with the event, adding special glamour to the celebration.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Entertainment Cruise, Prince (Dr.) Sanmi Bamidele, expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his transformational leadership and people-centred governance. He noted that the governor’s policies and commitment to economic diversification have created an enabling environment for private investments, including tourism and leisure businesses, to thrive in the state.
Prince Bamidele also commended the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, for his sustained efforts at promoting culture, tourism, and aquatourism as key drivers of socio-economic development in Oyo State.
He congratulated the celebrant, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, describing him as a visionary leader whose administrative style continues to positively impact governance at the grassroots, while wishing him many more years of good health, wisdom, and greater service to humanity.
The Celebrity Cruise, which forms part of activities lined up for the festive season, is expected to continue in the coming days, with more celebrities and dignitaries billed to grace the cruise as Vibing December unfolds.
