The Chairman of the Oyo State Football Association, Oba James Oluyemi Odeniran, has expressed gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for his support of the female football team. Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated Nigeria vs Rwanda match, Oba Odeniran emphasized Governor Makinde has provided adequate security measures to ensure a smooth and successful event. err

“We must commend Governor Seyi Makinde for his unwavering support of our female football team,” Oba Odeniran said. “As we prepare to host Rwanda, be expecting top-notch security arrangements to guarantee the safety of all stakeholders.”

The Oyo State Football Association Chairman also highlighted the role of moral boosters in the team’s success, noting that the presence of Governor Seyi Makinde would undoubtedly motivate the players.

“We appreciate the support of God Seyi Makinde , who will be present to offer moral support to the team,” he said. “His presence will undoubtedly boost the players’ morale and inspire them to deliver a winning performance.”

Oba Odeniran attributed the team’s current success to the efforts of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president and his executives. He noted that the team’s performance in the the ongoing qualification is a crucial factor for the upcoming match.

“If we hadn’t performed well in the previous matches, we wouldn’t have been considered for this fixture,” he said. “We thank the NFF president, FIFA, and CAF executives for their support and look forward to a successful match.”

The FA chairman further expressed his gratitude to the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke, for her significant contributions to sports development in the state since her appointment. He emphasized that the upcoming match would showcase the strength and passion of the people, highlighting the value of football to the state. Additionally, he noted that the match would bring economic benefits to Oyo State, demonstrating the positive impact of sports on the local economy.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, will convene its 81st Annual General Assembly on Saturday in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. The event will be formally opened by the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, at the Emeritus Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, located opposite the University College Hospital, Orita-Mefa.

With adequate security measures in place and the support of Governor Makinde and traditional leaders, the stage is set for an exciting encounter between Nigeria and Rwanda.
