The selection and voting system took place at the LCDA Secretariat of Ibarapa North-East LCDA,Lanlate after Eleven years of vacuum created by the demise of the late monarch ,Oba (Dr) Eyinloye Amori Afolabi who died on the 28th of November, 2014.
It was gathered that 1957 declaration of Onitabo of Itabo recognized two ruling houses of Ogun and Agan. The late monarch, HRM Oba (Dr) Eyinloye Amori Afolabi was from the Ogun ruling house.
In 2015, the Ibarapa East Local Government wrote the next ruling house ( Agan) to produce the next Oba because it is their turn according to the declaration but the process of nomination and selection of Candidates could not start until February 7th 2025.
The next ruling house, Agan, which turn to produce the next Oba has three lineages: Olugbenla, Ajiibi and Ibitoye Oyekanmi.
It was gathered that the Olugbenla and Ajiibi have produced three Obas from their lineages while Ibitoye Oyekanmi produced just one on this present location of Itabo.
During the nomination process;five Candidates were presented to the Government and in turn to the kingmakers for selection.
The five Candidates are: Prince Isiaka Bayonle Oyedokun Kehinde (Ibitoye Oyekanmi), Prince Olaniyi Olagoke ( Ladodu), Prince Jamiu Adedotun Alabi ( Olugbenla ), Prince Olusegun Odewole( Olugbenla) and Prince Moteleola Taiwo ( Kangiefon).
The voting process which was conducted by the kingmakers ( The Ikunles) who are Chief Adeleke Ogundeji, The Elemo (Chairman), Chief Olagbeso Olaniyi, The Asalu, Chief Okunlola Olawale, The Ojumo and Chief Afolabi Gbolamu, The Oota ( Warrant Chief) saw the emergence of PRINCE ISIAKA BAYONLE OYEDOKUN KEHINDE as ONITABO-ELECT OF ITABO LAND.
The selection and nomination process was in the presence of Government Officials and the Security Agency.
Those in attendance were: The Vice Chairman of Ibarapa East Local Government/Political Head,Ibarapa North-East LCDA, Lanlate, Head of Local Government Administration, Director of Administration and General Services, Director of Establishment, Chief of Staff, Secretary to the Local Government, Supervisor for Chieftancy Matters, Divisional Police Officers for both Lanlate and Eruwa Divisional Police Headquarters, Director of State Security Services and other Security Agencies.
The result and other necessary selection and nomination process documents have been forwarded to the appropriate quarters for the pronouncement.
