Olubadan Demise: Ibarapakan Commiserates with Makinde, Others

Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has commiserated with the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde and the entire sons and daughters of Ibadan Land over the passing of the Olubadan of Ibadan Land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.

The 43rd Olubadan of Ibadan was pronounced dead at the ripe age of 90 in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025.

According to Hon. Adepoju on Monday, the reign of Oba Owolabi was marked by peaceful coexistence, unity and preservation of the rich customs and tradition of the Yoruba race.

The lawmaker said that Oba Olakulehin’s reign might be short but impactful, reiterating that the late monarch left behind a good legacy that successive Olubadans will build on.

He added that the nonagenarian will be remembered for all that he stood for, including his roles in promoting  peace among different communities in Yoruba Land.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character prayed for the repose of the traditional ruler’s soul, while commiserating with the Governor of Oyo State, traditional rulers in Yoruba Land, and all the sons and daughters of Ibadan Land
