Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr.) Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has graciously approved an empowerment opportunity for women whose husbands are currently late in the federal constituency.
Approving the empowerment opportunity for widows in the constituency on Thursday, December 12, 2024, Hon. Adepoju acknowledged the psychological trauma and difficulties that are concomitantly attached to losing one’s husband.
The lawmaker said the empowerment opportunity would be coordinated through the office of the Special Adviser on Women Affairs in his government, Mrs. Abiola-Baderin Shukhrah Olapegba, asking those whose husbands are currently late to report at the below locations to have their data captured for the opportunity starting from Monday, December 16, 2024 to Thursday, December 19, 2024.

ii. Idere (Maternity Centre, Malete, Idere)
iii. Ayete (Ayete Old Town Hall, Ayete)
iv. Tapa (Tapa Community Town Hall, Tapa)
v. Igangan (Igangan Town Hall, Igangan)
The lawmaker stated that the programme is not a one-off effort, adding that the captured widows will have the chance to enjoy a series of economic and social supports throughout his tenure. He also stressed that the initiative is aimed at supporting vulnerable women in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas of Oyo State.
