On September 4, 2024, a dignified funeral ceremony was held in honour of Alhaja Sikirat Oluyedun, the 95-year-old mother of Oluyedun Bello, a distinguished member of the Ibadan community. The occasion was marked by a celebratory atmosphere, with eulogies and tributes paid by esteemed guests, including the Chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Honourable Kehinde Akande, and his Vice Chairman, Honorable Tajudeen Adigun.

The ceremony was a testament to the impact of the centenarian’s life, as friends, family, and well-wishers gathered to bid her a fond farewell. The presence of the local government chairman and his vice chairman underscored the esteem in which Oluyedun Bello’s family is held in the community.

Alhaja Oluyedun was remembered as a pillar of strength, wisdom, and love, whose legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The burial ceremony was a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity, with attendees dressed in their finest attire, paying tribute to the departed matriarch.
